The Neil Gatlin Thriller Series

Hey, this is Neil Gatlin, I’ve just about cracked the code in book three of my Neil Gatlin Thriller series, Rescuing the Invisible, a tentative title. But don’t tell Ida.

She’s stepped away from her computer so I can tell you a few things she’s been trying to hide.

First, Ida would like you to think I’m a good guy—always have been. Not so. I didn’t always used to be a crime fighter and amateur detective. In fact, there was a day when I used to be on the other side of the law.

See I was kind of the black sheep of the family. My dad has barely spoken to me since my mother died. I guess that’s why I have a soft place for the underdog and outsider. Yet, when I help the above mentioned, I find myself in the crosshairs of some pretty dangerous dudes. My brother, Ken, would say it’s because I tend to do things in unconventional ways.

I think trouble has a way of finding me. Ken thinks I just like starring in my own thriller series. He has no idea how stressful this can be.

About deciphering codes.

When we were kids, my dad would communicate with us in codes. He was a telegraph operator, so he often tapped out messages to us boys. He also studied hieroglyphics and would leave notes that my brother and I had to decipher.

But he wasn’t the only one. My mother would also test us, send us to the grocery store with lists written in shorthand which we had to figure out.

I guess that’s why I’m good at deciphering codes. That said, this case I’m working on now is a tricky one. I’ve shared a little about it and Rescuing the Invisible.

I finally finished up Eleanor Cruthers’ story, Guarding What Remains. I have to admit, I’m pretty impressed. The troubles that girl and her family went through during the Great Depression would put hair on the bottom of your feet! You can check out more about Guarding What Remains here.

So, now she’s finally getting back to my story, Rescuing the Invisible, Book Three of The Neil Gatlin Thriller Series. I thought when Sunshine and I moved to Spokane, Washington we were free of trouble. Apparently not!

I’ve managed, once again, to get myself in trouble with some very dangerous people. But this time, they have their sights on my family. I know what their up to, but they always seem a few steps ahead of me. If I can break their secret code, I stand a chance at Rescuing the Invisible.

I’d better go before Ida finds out I’ve changed her original post for this page. If you haven’t read The Invisible Cipher or Deciphering Invisibility check them out. They’re short reads—nothing like Rescuing the Invisible, which is a full length novel. And remember…

Sleep with one eye open,

Neil Gatlin
